Spring 2022 Shareholders Update

Dear Shareholder:

Greetings family! I hope this letter finds you healthy and safe this Easter season. This is a time of resurrection and renewed focus on faith and family. I’m delighted to share our ongoing work to grow G-MDI into the vision we set forth three years ago.

The shopping center remains steady and we continue to be approached by new potential tenants for the vacancies as well as ground lease opportunities for the front parcel. While we have not secured tenants yet, we’re encouraged by the activity brought by the new property management company and hope to give you all good news by the Annual meeting. Please note: the annual Shareholders Meeting will be on August 6, 2022 at 11a.

At the annual meeting, I mentioned that we were developing a website to provide a central location where shareholders could access information about the Corporation. I’m pleased to share that the website is complete: https://www.green-myersdevelopment.com. There you will find Corporation history, documents such as the bylaws and annual meeting minutes, copies of these quarterly updates, and pages for the reunion and scholarship opportunities (more on that below). The documents and announcements pages are password protected – use 40AcresLegacy to access it. Please remember that any documents provided to shareholders is confidential.

Enclosed in this packet are the details for the family reunion which will be held August 5-7 in Charleston. We are excited to see everyone this year, especially after two challenging years with COVID. We will do everything possible to make the weekend as safe and fun as possible. Our reunion team, Kiresten Smith Branch, Keon Edwards, Sonia Greene Gethers, Claudette Green, Ida Green, Leon Green, Johndell Greene, Atiya Myers, Fredericka Green Smith, and Willette Smith, have been hard at work and we are very appreciative of their efforts. You may keep up with all the latest information on the family Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/GreenMyers and you may register online at https://www.green-myersdevelopment.com/reunion or by returning the enclosed forms.

As mentioned in my last mailing, the board has been working on an application process to award scholarships to students in the family. Since this is new, we are planning to award one (1) $1,000 scholarship this year, to be announced at the Reunion. Green-Myers descendants who are high school seniors, have earned a high school diploma or GED are eligible to apply. Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements, submit a completed short-form application, and agree to be bound by the scholarship rules. All information may be found on the Corporation website at https://www.green-myersdevelopment.com/scholarship or you may request information by contacting Willette Smith. Applications may be submitted between May 1- June 15, 2022. Please share this opportunity with your family soon so there is time to prepare an application.

In addition we are looking for three (3) family members to serve on the scholarship committee - they can be shareholders or non-shareholders. Please contact Willette by June 1, 2022 if you are interested in participating. We will convene the group to review applications in mid-July.

Finally, it is with heavy heart that I report we have had three deaths in the family since my last communication. Please keep the families of Carrie Green, Rosalie Funnie, and Rachel Nowlin in your prayers.

In closing, the board asks for your ongoing prayers as the Lord continues to guide our actions to the benefit of our shareholders and family members. We will be in touch shortly regarding the Annual Meeting notice and the call for nominations for the board.
