Happy Spring! We’ve been through a challenging 14 months, but, God continues to see us through these difficult times. I hope you and your families are safe, healthy, and vaccinated.
The Corporation continues to hold steady and I am pleased to share several announcements with you in advance of the Annual Meeting.
First, I would like to formally welcome Willette Smith as the new Corporate Board Secretary!Willette is a member of the Green family, the granddaughter of the late Freddie Green, Sr. and the daughter of Jeanette Smith. She brings her communications, customer relations, and organizational skills to the Corporation and she is very interested in helping advance the family legacy. Please anticipate hearing from her in in the future and if you have any questions or concerns, Willette may be reached at info@green-myersdevelopment.com.
Next, the Annual Shareholders Meeting will be held on August 7, 2021, at 10 am. In addition to reports on the shopping center, the budget, and operations, the board will present revised bylaws for ratification. We will also hold the annual election of directors. Jametta Myers and I are up for re-election but, as always, the election process is open and any shareholder interested in serving may submit a nomination. The board job description is attached for your review. These are preferredskills for board service, but are not required. Please submit nominations by June 12, 2021. As stated in the bylaws, each director must be a shareholder of the corporation and be available for regular and call meetings of the directors.
The nomination should include:
· A resume and/or bio for the nominee
· A statement of why the nominee is interested and/ or should serve on the board.

She will send an email confirmation when she has received your nomination. Once the slate is developed, the ballot will be mailed out by July 19, 2021.
Again, please plan to attend the annual meeting of the shareholders on August 7, 2021, at 10 am. More information about the location will be sent with the notice and proxy. As last year, we will adhere to COVID protocols for social distancing as well as provide online access. If you are unable to attend, contact Willette or me to obtain a proxy form.
And finally, due to the uncertainties around the pandemic, there will NOT be an in-person family reunion this year. Unfortunately, there isn’t enough time to pull together an event that will ensure everyone’s safety and be nimble enough to change should COVID cases spike again. Please mark your calendars for the first weekend of August 2022. The Family Reunion team will be in touch with more information as planning commences.
